Sermon Snippet – 2nd December 2018

Every week we’ll post a short snippet from Ashley’s sermon from that Sunday. Here’s a few lines from what he said this week as he started an Advent series reflecting on the second coming of Jesus.

We have Advent to remind us that we live in the time in-between.

We have Advent to remind us that the Jesus who was born at Bethlehem, as Immanuel, God with us, is coming back to us again.

We have Advent to remind us that the victory Jesus accomplished over sin and death is a victory that will one day transform all creation.

We have Advent to remind us that Jesus still calls us to follow him and be faithful in living his way and sharing his love with the world.

We have Advent to remind us that even when all seems to be darkness, in our world or in our own situations, the dawn has come and the full light of day will soon shine.

[Reflecting on Mark 13]
